The Great Surprise

What a fun night! Larry goes to Dallas once a month for the Discovery! Training as a TA (training assistant), Every Saturday night they have a themed party. If you go through the Relationship training they play a song that you can "slow" dance to...well every month Larry comes home and complains that "they played that stupid song again and I didn't get to dance with you". This is when I tell him we can dance to it at home if he wants, and he never does..???. So I decided I would surprise him in Feb and drive down for the Sat. night party and that's what I did. I only told 2 people I was going (who I was going to stay with and who was going to cover the paper route for me on Sunday) The less to know, the better and it was awesome! I drove down Sat afternoon and dropped the dogs off where I was staying, changed my clothes and set off for the party. I knew he would at least text me to tell me he was going down to the party. Little did he know that I was sitting in the parking lot when I got that message. So I headed in, for the bathroom first of course. And as I was walking in, one of my friends from Tulsa was walking out...oops didn't want her to know I was there either but it ended up OK. She rounded up the rest of the Tulsa group and quickly made plans to reveal me... One of the Tulsans, went in to find Larry and covered his eyes. The rest of the group walked in front of me until I got to him... I wrapped my arms around his waist and they uncovered his eyes....now it gets funny! He didn't notice me at first, he was dancing and yelling, for what felt like 30 seconds (now I still have my arms around his waist) Then he looked down, jumped back about 10 feet and his eyes bugged out of his head. YES, he was excited to see me. I know the picture is blurry, but all we had was a camera phone. So, he got to dance the dance with me and he was beaming the rest of the night... See I do selfless things for my husband once in a while, just to make sure he knows how much I love him! NOW...why was he ok with some random arms around his waist, I asked the same question... He thought the guys were messing with him as they always do....I just laughed!

Snow Fun and Bubbles

The weather was beautiful; sunny and warm (for snow) so we played outside, making snow angels, snowmen, sledding as my brother pulled the sled, bubbles from the bubble machine and of course the dogs were all over the place. We actually lost Jaxson's ball in the snow somewhere, I guess it will be found in the spring. Here they are all cozy in a warm towel.

Here is a glimpse of Christmas... I crocheted hats and scarfs for all the girls. They were a hit and very cute I might ad. We had a great time in Denver with the girls. Larry had a hard time driving there, due to a huge snow storm that hit Tulsa on Christmas Eve. We missed him and will plan better in the future! He finally made it the day after Christmas and we had another celebration with him. I will post more pictures soon and I know these are a little out of order, but I forgot I hadn't posted any Christmas yet...I'll try harder next time!

What my Birthday looks like!

Today is my birthday! And I have been trying to remember if I have ever had snow on my birthday! The only times I can recall is when we would venture up to Flagstaff for a ski trip that happened on my birthday! Now I am sure I had snow while living in Utah and Idaho, but I was too young to remember so this is my first year living in snow on my birthday! And this is what it looks like! Of course, the dogs love it and would stay outside all day if we would let them! But they get cold and we have to warm them up sometimes! Overall it has been a great birthday! Larry took me to dinner and a movie to celebrate and we are headed to the Casting Crowns/Kutless concert on Friday, which I am looking forward to. I am taking it easy today and just enjoying the day! I appreciate all the birthday wishes I have received...that is the one thing I want for my birthday, to be remembered... to know people are thinking about me!

Jaxson's obssession

Larry bought the dogs these squeaky, bouncy balls while I was gone to Phoenix and Jaxson is now obsessed with them. They are cute, one is a frog and the other an elephant. Thanks to our friend, Cary who taught Jaxson how to play fetch...Thanks Cary! This picture is the only time we were not playing! and as you can see he is "guarding" his new toys! He loves to squeak them when he returns to you, it's squeak, squeak, bark, bark (translation: Mommy, throw my ball, please!) at least he is polite about it, right! My only issue with this game is when he plays alone and it goes under the couch! He can't reach it and is insistent upon Mommy getting his ball back, he will bark until I do! I have tried to stuff blankets under the couch, but he seems to find it funny to dig at the blanket until the ball goes back under the couch! Stop the madness! But I love his little personality and at least he is active!

Jamaica me crazy!

Here is an overview of our fun time on the Carnival Destiny Cruise ship! We ventured with 4 other friends to Ocho Rios, Jamaica for some zip lining and tubing. Then we were off to Grand Cayman where we saw some huge fish as we snorkeled off the beach. We had lots of fun on the ship relaxing, dancing, playing bingo, karaoke, playing battle of the sexes (where the girls dominated!!!!), and of course eating! Larry loved the self serve soft serve yogurt machine! And I loved the chocolate dipped strawberries! YUMMY!!!

I was blessed to spend some wonderful time with family in San Fran in September. I saw Big Redwood trees, the golden gate bridge, the beach, Pier 39, some crazy sea lions, Alcatraz (from afar) China town, and of course some rainbows! I loved hanging out with Colleen and Matt and their 2 kiddos Carston, 4yrs old and Kerrigan 3 months old. I went to Karate and T-ball. I hated to leave and hope to visit again soon!

Julie Adventures

I love when Julie comes to visit...never a dull moment! We were busy from plane landing to plane taking off! We started with a good night's sleep, for Saturday morning was the Blue Bell ice cream festival! All you can eat ice cream, all day long for $4.00, it was worth it. We spent most of the day eating ice cream and trying to stay cool in the crazy humidity. We managed to do this by eating lots and lots of ice cream! Some of the favs were; blackberry cobbler, peaches and vanilla, triple caramel, just to name a few. Then we headed to the mall for some lunch at Chick-fil-A. Oh the fun doesn't stop there, we ended up donating blood and racing to see who was the fastest (I was of course, except I have soft veins and so the needle went all the way through and I was a concern for a blood clot. The nurse proceeded to take the needle out and stick the other arm! I guess that was initiation for a first timer) But winning the blood pumping contest was worth it! Then we went for pedicures, boy that is nice after being stuck with a big ole needle! Off, to church from there...Finally some R and R for the day. Sunday came and the dogs need baths, so we loaded up all 4 dogs and off to sloppy dog wash we went. After that, we "broke" in to Chick-fil-A and grabbed some ice for the store party (we had to cool the pool somehow) and the afternoon was spent swimming and hanging out with Chick-fil-A friends. Julie and I had a beach ball fight and ended slipping down the slide very gracefully! So, that evening we borrowed the detox machine and detoxed Julie (we had to get all that ice cream out somehow!) Her water was pretty colorful when she was done! I had to distract her by beating her at tetris, which humbly I did very well (he he)! Monday was the Penguin Parade (posted below) That was a fun filled day! Tuesday was kids night where we made 4th of July Airplanes to fly during fireworks... OH yeah! Julie thinks she missed her calling and should have been a mascot, so I dressed her up in the inflatable cow suit and took some pictures. We'll make this her portfolio picture at a later date! Wed. We relaxed and got ready to fly to Phx! It was such a fun weekend, I can't wait until next year when she comes for the ice cream and we can find more penguins!

Penguins on Parade

There are all these crazy penguins around Tulsa, in front a businesses; I have always wanted to do a "scavenger hunt" to find all of them and have my picture taken by them. Well, Larry has always put it off, thinking I am crazy I'm sure. SO, when my crazy friend, Julie was coming to visit I knew she would join me in this adventure! We had so much fun and saw so much of the city. We drove around for hours looking for these penguins and posing for our pictures. We ended up finding 13 of them (not sure how many there really are). We started close to home and ended up downtown Tulsa... (where they were filming a movie, there were roads blocked off, wardrobe trailers, and cameras in the back of trucks, that was exciting too). So, the story behind the Penguins is this... a few years ago the zoo was celebrating their 75th anniversary and there was a new penguin exhibit going in. These penguins were a fundraiser to build that exhibit. Businesses sponsored the exhibit and in return they have these crazy penguins displayed outside their businesses. I know there are more penguins to be found...next time Julie comes to visit we might be out again! Until then....

Memorial Camping

Gotta Love Camping! We ventured into camping this weekend and discovered quite the adventure! It was fun! We started by setting up all the tents...Adults having their own and all the kids in one....Fabulous idea! We ended every evening with Smore's! Of course, what is camping without Smore's? We hung out by the lake while the boys fished, the kids swam and we all soaked up some sun. The dogs were a handful this time around with Mattie chewing through her leash 4 times before the end of Friday night! Then Piper got through hers. Larry had to get very creative to keep them on their leashes! We ran for cover on Sat evening as the rain barrelled through. trying to stay warm and keep our stuff dry was an experience! The rain was coming down so hard that the rain fly just couldn't keep up! Drip, drip, drip! But we survived and dried out! Then Sunday before lunch we headed for a hike! By the end, I was carrying both of the little dogs and we were all covered in ticks...YUCK!!! I have never experience this and I don't care to again! Thankfully we were at the end of the of the line and only found a few...those in the front of the line were not as fortunate and found lots! I am still feeling like they are crawling on me and constantly double check. I guess this is just a part of Oklahoma camping! YUCK! But over all it was a good time, good company and lots of good eating!

Princess Night

It was Princess night at Chick-fil-A and we had a blast! I was snow white and it was very fun to see all the little girls' faces light up when they saw me. I think they actually thought I was Snow White, which I am not complaining about cuz it was fun getting all of that attention and of course photo opportunities! Stacie, the other marketing director was Princess Fiona and man was that hysterical. The kids loved her and she looked awesome!

Larry and I went to the Melting Pot for our anniversary! It was delightful! We actually started the day shopping for something new to wear...here is what we came up with! Then off to the Melting Pot for a yummy dinner. We started with Spinach Artichoke Cheese dip, then some yummy salads, our main course and the Dessert, which we decided should be Chocolate Turtle... a little caramel and lots of chocolate! YUMMY! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

I can't believe it's been a year! And a year it has been! We have been married a year and shared our celebration with several things this year. It was Easter, what a great day to share with our anniversary! Jesus is Alive and so are we! Larry was on a cleanse (I started with him, but gave up on day 4, it was really hard) I am so proud of him for sticking with the cleanse the entire time, you are awesome, mi amore'! So, we will celebrate in other ways (EATING OUT) at another time! Larry's Mom was so awesome in giving us a gift card to the melting pot, which is where I wanted to go for our anniversary....YEAH!!! THANK YOU DEBBIE!!!! Here is the card Larry made for me, it was awesome and brought tears to my eyes. I have to admit, I was a little afraid when I heard him rumbling around in my craft room...you never know what that means...but he was just being creative!

Evolution of the Breast

While working in Arizona last week, my mom and I went to the Botanical gardens. There was a glass show that was really fascinating. Here are a few pictures of some of our favorites...

and then there was this one... I named it "Evolution of the Breast" and it seemed fit as people were walking by saying "and what does that look like, honey?" Why did he choose that peachy color? Why is there a little tip? Why do they start out pointing high in the sky and as they progress they elongate south? Coincidence? I don't think so! But entertaining all the same....

Spring is in the air...

Well, not today...it's actually freezing today! Oklahoma weather is weird, it was 80 yesterday and 31 today! No wonder people keep getting sick! I prefer to just stay indoors on crazy weather days like this! But the trees are starting to bloom and this is a sight to see!!
We have had so much going on, so I won't bore you with all the details, just an overview of our whirlwind of a life! We went back to Discovery!! it was awesome, more empowering knowledge you must experience for yourselves! Highly recommended! I went to Phx for my monthly work week and man was that a crazy busy week! So nice to have those! Larry and I helped Chick-fil-a with an ORU game, we handed out coupons to everyone through the doors and then at the 12 minute time-out we had one and a half minutes to throw 300 sandwiches to the crowd. All the time praying that the sandwich actually stayed in the bag. Success!! It was fun and I learned that Chick-fil-a sandwiches can be thrown like a Frisbee with much success! Don't try this at home! Then there was a Christian concert on Friday! It was first come first serve, so I drove the Cow van (very fun to drive) to the concert and sold sandwiches, chips and drinks to all the crazy people waiting in line. It was a sight to see and a VERY, VERY cold day! Then that weekend I was asked to help with the grand opening a the new Bixby Chick-fil-a, that was an eventful week, but lots of fun! We started with blitzing to all the nearby businesses, handing out free coupons to all the employees. Then the first 100...The first 100 guests through the door on Thursday morning, get free chick-fil-a for a year. By 11:00 am on Wed, we had our 100. There were tents everywhere! It was crazy! Once these people sign in they are not to leave, so we feed them, play games with them, gave out prizes, there was a DJ for the evening with more games and fun and of course random line checks, if you aren't there for your line check, you are disqualified...all 100 made it through the doors! Then it's busy, busy getting the new guests in and out with lots of smiles and free stuff! So much fun! Now we are winding down for a few days, then back to Discovery!!! this weekend and hopefully some normalcy to follow! Maybe even some pictures of some spring!!!

SURPRISE!!!

Happy Birthday to me! Larry had the entire day planned out! I was extremely adamant about NOT sharing my birthday with the Superbowl, and Larry made that happen! (I did give in and we went to a friends house so he could watch the game on a BIG screen TV while I played games with the girls, SNORTA is such a fun game, gotta get it!) But back to MY day! Larry stayed up all night getting the house ready for my day. When I woke up there were balloons and birthday signs everywhere along with beautiful roses and tulips. We went to church and then met some friends at Pei Wei (YUM!) for lunch. All through the day Larry was giving me different gifts. He wanted to get me a manicure and pedicure but being that we are in Oklahoma he forgot that there isn't a whole lot open on Sunday. So, off to the mall we went. I have always wanted to Build a bear, so that is where we went. It was actually very fun and I can't wait to take all of my nieces to build their own bear. I picked out clothes for her, gave her a giggle and named her Payton Jayde. She is cute! Since everyone knows Sundays are for naps and I was getting a little grouchy from being tired, Larry decided to take me home so we could let the dogs out and I could rest up for the rest of my day! This is where he blew it...hehe! He stopped to get gas and thinking that with all the doors and windows closed I couldn't hear him, hehe I heard it all! He called and told his contact that we were getting gas and running into Lowe's real quick, was that enough time... When he got on the car I told him I had heard everything he said. He tried to play it off and had to just change the subject, Larry doesn't know how to lie! But, I was pleasantly surprised that he made it that long without blowing the surprise. So, we finally made it to the house and there were lots of people and food and cake and presents and fun! Shaeli helped me open all of my gifts. It was a fun and exhausting day. Thanks Mi Amore!

Birthday Bash!

It started out as a girl's night in watching a movie and just hanging out....BUT when the chocolate cake and the Happy Birthday song came out, I busted out the Karaoke machine! We sang into the wee hours of the morning. And let me tell you, my freak flag was showing! I haven't Karaoked in a long time and I missed it! We had so much fun! Little Rascals

Just some funny things these little ones like to do... Since the ground is now covered in snow and ice, Piper has decided she loves ice. She will find a piece she can carry in and chew on it until it melts (leaving little puddles of water on the floor). It's so funny to watch her carry it around, then she realizes it's really cold. They still love to be outside. They run and run until their feet get too cold and then we go inside and crash! Playing is hard work! Mattie on the other hand is a little pill, she has been dragging things outside! We think she is nesting, but it still doesn't make me happy! My favorite thing is that she takes my yarn outside and tries to make it into a nest. This really makes me crazy as it is strung through both doggie doors into the backyard. I know I should laugh but it makes me crazy! Jaxson loves riding in the car in fact he loves to drive the car. He will put his paws up on the steering wheel and look out the front window (it only hinders my view a little bit :)) He only does this when the side window isn't rolled down so he can take in all the new smells! I have to roll it up cuz it's too freakin' cold!!! Piper loves to ride in the car as well, but lately if we ride too long, she gets car sick and has puked all over me and her auntie Lisa! Isn't life grand, they really are preparing me for children! We have play dates with other friends who have dogs. That is always a bonus because it wears them out and they sleep really well at night! But Jaxson still likes his adventures and no matter where we are he seems to go on them...

Ice Storm

I braved it! I put on my boots, jacket, scarf, hat, mittens, and everything in between... and I went OUTSIDE!!!! The ice started falling yesterday morning and for once I was glad I wasn't feeling well. I had to stay inside and stay warm. When Larry was sent home from work early I knew it was bad. It continued through the night and this morning it still falls. I had to take some pictures for my Arizona friends at least! It really is pretty and pretty scary. We are advised not to drive if we don't have to. So, Larry is taking me to work tonight so I can make snowflakes with the kids, how appropriate for a day like today! No wonder some of the trees didn't make it last year, the ice is heavy on their little branches! Poor Trees! The dogs still love to play outside and it's funny to watch them try and cross our frozen creek. It's easier to get them back in the house when it's this cold outside, their little feet get cold and they happily come running!

Wii Hair

Auntie Lisa came for a visit and lots of hair was needing to be done! So, we invited everyone over for some hair doing! While my "clients" were waiting we all played some wii. It was lots of fun! Larry and Joy battled it out at Mario Kart. Lisa went blond. Isaac mastered the hula-hoop. Andie had fun watching all the crazy adults. And Piper fell in love with Lisa! Good Times!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was spent with Larry's family where it was fun to have little ones around again. The girls (Lexi and Kaylee) were so fun to watch as they opened all of their gifts and wanted to play with each and every one. We had the dogs with us for the day and they were a hit. The little girls loved Piper. They wanted to hold her and love her. That was cute to watch and the dogs were very good with them. We enjoyed family time and got lots of fun presents, including Larry's juicer he has been talking about for months and my Shark so I can steam clean our new floors! Now getting them home was the question? We ended up returning them in Phx and re-purchasing them in OK (or we would have had to leave the dogs :)) Larry's family drew names between the siblings and in-laws (girls drew girls and boys drew boys, which was really nice cuz boys are hard to buy for!!!) The 2 names we drew were saving up for something big so they wanted money. I couldn't just hand over the money so I got creative... For Blaine we (my Mom helped me) made him a new wardrobe (out of money of course!) Tiny little shirts, pants and bow ties. It was very fun. And for Alicia, I made her a butterfly garden (again out of dollar bills) It was fun to watch them open their gifts from us. There was lots of family, good food and laughs all day long! Thanks family for a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve was spent with my Mom, Grandma, and Bill in Phoenix. Larry drove the 16 hours with all the dogs to be with us for Christmas. He is such a trooper as well as the dogs, they are all good travelers! Larry got in to Phoenix about 5:00 Christmas Eve, and after dropping the big dogs off at his parents, he joined me at my Mom's where we had dinner and opened presents. Larry loved the John Deere blanket my Mom made for him (Grandma and Piper loved it too as seen in the picture). We had a great time just hanging out! I made my Mom 3 clocks to match her new bedroom, now she will always know what time it is in Phoenix, Denver (where my brother and sister live) and Broken Arrow.

Ohio Road Trip

In early December Larry and I ventured to Piqua, Ohio to visit Larry's Grammie. We loaded all the dogs in the car, because we had specific directions from Grammie that if we didn't bring all of the dogs, we weren't welcomed. So, off with all the dogs we went, on what Larry called a 9 hour drive (it was actually 12 hours)! He again told me it was 9 hours home (shhhhh don't tell him it was another 12 hours home.) We had a wonderful time visiting with home cooked meals, except for lunches at Burger King. Grammie and Rich have farm land with lots of woods and even a pond. The dogs loved to run though the woods and play in the leaves. Grammie was so worried they would wander onto the not so frozen pond , we didn't even show them there was a pond and all was safe!

Larry had this great idea that I needed to learn to crochet, I wasn't so sure. So, we made a trip to Joann's fabric where I picked out some yarn and a few pattern books I wanted to try out. I was crocheting in no time and I love it. I made the hat I am wearing in the pictures as my first project! I have finished a matching scarf and hat, it's so much fun! It's also great to make road trips go faster and Larry appreciates that I am busy and not getting grumpy! I still call Grammie when I get stuck and she walks me through the new stitch. I'm not supposed to reveal this BUT... Larry learned to knit while we were there. More out of proving us girls wrong, but I think he secretly enjoys it! He made a cute little hat one day and is now working on a scarf for me (What a good husband)! Every time I brought the camera out he would hide his work... but I caught him and of course had to put it in this collage! Give him crap, I love it!!! I hope we make it back to Ohio soon, maybe in the summer when it is warmer and we can hang out by the pond and the dogs can swim!

Sloppy Dog Wash

All Clean! We will be making a trip to visit Grammie this weekend and we wanted to look our best. Larry found a dog wash in town so we went to check it out! It was awesome! We got to make a mess and get everyone clean and not have to clean up! Cooper and Mattie are troopers! Mattie was so funny with the dryer, we were a little hesitant for her as she doesn't really like loud noises, but she did awesome. She put her paws up on Larry's shoulders while he was drying her, everyone walking by just laughed! They are all clean and ready for our adventure to Ohio! Grammie here we ALL come, hope you are ready for us!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree Farm

Today we had the opportunity to visit a Christmas tree Farm. Larry has been talking about this for weeks (and when I say weeks, it's more like months) Our friends, Joy and Isaac, started talking about this in July, I think and Larry has been excited ever since. He was actually a little disappointed when we had to wait a week because Joy and Isaac were out of town for Thanksgiving. It was really fun! When we arrived we loaded onto a hay ride and rode out into the Christmas tree field where there are rows and rows of trees. You pick your favorite, they hand you a saw and you chop down your very own Christmas tree. We wandered for a bit, of course Larry wanted the tallest one he could find. So, we ended up with an 8.5 foot tree. After you cut it down you drag it back to the hay ride where they load it and you ride back with it. They unload the trees and put them on this machine that shakes the sillies out of the trees, not really but it does get all the loose or dead needles out (so you don't take as many home with you). Then they thread it through a netting ring so it's all nice and contained. They drill a hole in the bottom, hammer in the stand and tie it to your car. You are on your way home! They have it down to a science. Very organized and user friendly. So, Larry and I have our first,very own REAL CHRISTMAS TREE!!!! Decorations to follow!!!

We were so blessed to have our Mom's come and visit us for Thanksgiving! Our first family members to visit us in Oklahoma! My Mom came the week before to help me with kid's night (we made the cutest little turkeys) and flew out on Friday to visit the granddaughters in Denver. Larry's mom flew in on Thanksgiving and will stay through the weekend. We wanted to share Christmas Train with them, our church's version of the Christmas story. It was amazing! It was an old western town redone with different stores and restaurants. We had to go 2 separate times to accommodate both Moms, but we didn't mind seeing it twice! We ate BBQ with both mom's because it was so good. We did some shopping and ended the night riding the train. It told the Christmas story in beautifully painted murals and some live scenes. It really was a good time! Very well done!

Seeing Stripes

This has been my favorite project so far! My Mom was visiting for Thanksgiving so I took advantage of her help! I have always wanted to do a stripe wall and this was my chance! YEAH!! We picked out a color and made sure we had it before Thanksgiving day so we could paint while Larry was fixing the meal. We started by painting the wall all one color with flat paint. The next day we taped off all of our stripes. This was much easier than I had expected. We used a plum line and chalked the line, then followed the line with blue painters tape. The hardest part was keeping track of which ones to paint the gloss color, thank goodness for pencil X's! We painted all the X'ed stripes with the gloss color and peeled the tape off and "TA DA" we had stripes and the look so cool! They are amazing! Thanks Mom! OH YEAH... Jaxson had to get in on the fun! He was checking out the wall and found the paint lid. He stepped on it! Thank goodness Larry was standing right there to scoop him up before we had a real problem! Such a little helper! We could have had puppy paws all over the house!

Construction Zone

We are constructing! So much has been happening! It's all coming together! While I was in Phoenix for my week of work, Larry and our friend, Jonathon tiled the kitchen and laundry room. It's beautiful! I challenged them to lay the tile diagonally. They weren't very happy with me, but they got over themselves as they realized it wasn't as hard. This was Larry's first time tiling, he put his perfectionism into action and it looks awesome! So, when I got home we had wood floors to lay before my Mom arrived on Sunday. That gave us 2 days to get it done. We started Friday night and worked hard all day Saturday. We got into a groove and worked really well as a team. Yeah for the Schmidt's! I wanted the power tools. So, while Larry laid one row, I would measure the last piece, make the cut and snap it in place. It was smooth sailing and so much fun! Larry was very good at the intricate cuts and tricky closets, I like to make the end cuts and bust out the rows! Finally at midnight we hopped in the shower and fell into bed! Everything was hurting, even my toes! I don't think we moved the entire night! The floors look beautiful and we are so excited to say we did it! We will finish the floors up with some base boards and move onto the next project! We have a house and it's our very own!!!

Emergency Visit

Yes, we had our first emergency room visit with our little one, Piper. I think it was more traumatic for Larry, since it was him who caused her the pain. He was letting the dogs outside and there is a loose piece of concrete and when you step on the corner it lifts up. Piper happen to step right there as the slab was coming down and her little paw got caught under the slab. She cried for a while as Larry held and comforted her. We called the emergency vet to see what to do and they advised us to watch her for a while and if she still favors it after an hour to bring her in. Well 2 hours later she still wasn't walking on it so in we went! The doctor took her back and did some x-rays! The good news is she is only swollen, nothing broken...the bad news was the bill! I guess that's reality when you have kids! But she will be fine and spoiled rotten! Never a dull moment in the Schmidt household!

Jaxson loves Piper! We are very thankful for that! Here they are playing in our backyard. Sorry for the bad video job, they were really hard to follow! Jaxson is very cute with his little sister. We were at a friends house with a lot of people and Piper was a little overwhelmed. Besides, she had just had her shots. So, I was sitting on the floor with her between my legs just resting. Jaxson kept coming over to her and checking on her it was so sweet. He would kiss her and run off! (wow it really sounds like we have kids!) They make us laugh all the time, when Piper steals Jaxson's chew toys and runs off with them. Jaxson follows close behind and tries to take it back. This usually goes back and forth for a while. She yips at him and the roll around the floor. Jaxson loves to catch bugs, while Piper loves to chase and catch leaves. She usually brings them back to me. These are just a few of the funny things our pups do!

Meet Piper

This is Piper, she is 9 weeks old and the newest edition to the Schmidt family! She has so much personality and is very mischievous. Every morning I have to find my slippers, I take them off next to the bed, Piper comes in the morning and steals them. I also find random socks around the house. She loves being outside! In fact if we are done being outside and she is not, she runs away from us. She does the same thing when it's time for the crate, she's not too sure about that yet and takes off running. It's hard not to laugh because she is so funny! Her little tail goes a mile a minute. She loves her big brothers, Jaxson and Cooper and her big sister, Mattie. They have accepted each other very well. She has been very fun and so snugly!

Demolition Help

Jaxson loves things that make noise; the vacuum, the sander, the shop vac. We had just ripped up the baseboards in our new house getting ready for new floors. I wanted to get it cleaned up, so out came the shop vac. This is Jaxson helping with the clean up! He gets his tongue stuck all the time. It's so funny! A lot of the time I have to pick him up or I will run him over with the vacuum. At least it makes me laugh!

This is our new house!! Yeah, we are not in the hallway anymore! A friend of ours gave us these words of encouragement, "God doesn't close one door without opening another, but it might be HELL in the Hallway!!" We are out of the hallway, Praise God! We are not officially moved into the house, but we are working on it! Because we were in the hallway for a while, we didn't have the opportunity to get everything turned on before we signed. We found out Friday at 3 that we would be signing Monday at noon, so the electricity was turned on Thursday, and gas will be turned on Monday. Then we are free to move in completely! YEAH!!! I'm ready! There are some things we would like to do to update the house a little bit, so these are really before pictures, I can' wait until we get the after pictures up! We are looking into wood floors for the living room, craft room and hallway. There is ugly linoleum in the kitchen and bathrooms, so that will be exchanged for some ceramic tile. The doors on the craft room are hideous, they will be coming down and hopefully some french doors going up. There are some lights (reading lights we think) in the living room, not sure what we want to do about those... gotta get creative with those! Of course I want to paint a few things! Larry is a little freaked out by my creative thoughts, but I think it will be fun when it's all said and done, i can't wait to get started! Our doors are open for visitors who want to come and visit or want to come help with some projects! We would love to have you! YEAH WE ARE HOME OWNERS!!!

Pickin' Apples

In desperate need of getting away from reality for a few hours, Larry and I ventured to the local Apple Orchard/Pumpkin patch. This is our attempt to pick some apples, unfortunately we were at the end of the season and they were bombarded the 2 days before with schools, so there wasn't a whole lot of pickin left to do! We found a few good ones hidden deep in the trees. We enjoyed just getting outside and doing something that didn't involve buying a house! We came home with 2 pumpkins we are going to attempt carving into something fun and a bushel of apples (along with the few we actually picked)! Next year we are going out early in the season for some real apple pickin!

Airport Tarmacs

OK... so you are going to think I am the biggest dork, but really I am ok with that, this was one of the coolest things I have done (at least so far in Oklahoma)! I have always wanted to work at the airport; directing the planes in, or loading/unloading the baggage, I just want to be on the tarmac with the planes. i just find it fascinating, but of course only for a day! Well, I got my chance! It was really fun! Chick-fil-a does some cool things. We first prepared a light snack for the University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) football team; which included 2 chick-fil-a sandwiches, a bag of chips and a brownie. They wanted it to be light before they practiced! Once we got all that together (without the sandwiches, we wanted them to be hot and fresh) we headed to the airport, Where we were escorted onto the tarmac. We then set up chick-fil-a tables with all the bags. We were handed earplugs for when the plane arrived. The plane actually pulled up right next to us, it was very cool! Unfortunately the plane was 10 minutes early, so the sandwiches arrived as the plane arrived. I don't remember much after that because the players were coming off the plane, I was throwing sandwiches into bags and Stacie was handing them out! It was a little chaotic! I didn't even get to see the players, everything was happening so fast! But it was one of the coolest things I have done! I can't wait to do it again! Hopefully next time we will have the sandwiches all packed and I can help hand them to the players!!!

Homeless but not helpless

WOW!!! What the last few months have brought to our new life! With the economy spiralling downward at a faster pace then we care to keep up with, Larry and I have been caught in the middle of all the chaos! We thought we were on the ball and ahead of the game in buying a house, when really we are in the waiting game and homeless! As of September 28th, we didn't have a clue as to where we would lay our heads come October 1st. Thankfully our Landlord gave us a few days to get it all together! Now, where are we going to go? Thanks to some wonderful friends who offered one of their homes they are trying to sell as it lays vacant, we will have a home! So, with many friends and a Budget rental truck, we hauled all of our stuff to the garage of our new temporary home. It's more home than Larry and I know what to do with, it has lots of personality and we are falling more and more in love with this house and the neighborhood every day (Maybe we don't want this financing to go through, then we can just stay here!!!) We only moved in the necessary items... bed, couch, TV, and the dresser drawers for some clothes. We are told everyday that we should know about our loan tomorrow, tomorrow has yet to come! "Hurry up and wait" will be our motto through this drama! "What is God teaching us through all of this?" is our question! We know we will look back on these times, laugh and say, "OHHHH!!!". But for now we will Hurry up and wait!!! (the pictures are the house we are staying in and the garage in which our lives lay boxed!!)

This is my new little niece, Anna Marie. She was born April3, 2008... A week before the wedding. We just finished with a bath and her hair is very curly when it's wet, after it dries it goes straight. We think she will have Bryan's curly hair!
This happened to be before bath time... My sister-in-law was getting the water ready for bath time. I was holding Anna, starting to get her ready. I had all her clothes off EXCEPT for her diaper. Katy (the BIG sister) decided that her diaper needed to come off. Well, Anna was free and proceeded to piddle all over me! I know she loves me now!!!!

Katy talks nonstop and can say anything, she was so fun and is getting so big. She will be 2 in October! This is her playing in her sandbox!

Mom and I went to visit the girls for the weekend, we enjoyed ourselves so much. We walked to the park and played in the sandbox, read stories and had lots of fun! I can't wait to go back for another visit! Thanks for letting us come and play with you!

Schmidt Family Road trip!

So we started out for our journey! Larry's father turned 50 in July and there was a surprise party happening, so we loaded up the dogs, said a little pray and set out on the road... not without stopping for coffee! I was really excited about this little adventure we were taking as a family (although a little anxious to see how Jaxson would do in the car) I packed the camera where I could get to it easily and as commonly known, I didn't take one picture, not one! I know such a bad mommy, I had better get a handle on this before we have human babies or I might be fired!!! SO, I will just write a few words of the adventure! All of the dogs did awesome. Most of the back was designated to Cooper and Mattie; well equipped with pillow, blanket and dog bones. We left a little room up front for our luggage and some snacks for the road. I thought Jaxson would want to be with the big dogs more, but he just lay perfectly content on the pillow in my lap. He slept most of the way. Although we had to stop a few more times to let the dogs out, we made good time! I must say I lost it about gallop, New Mexico... I did NOT want to be in the car any more. I became somewhat grouchy only pleading to LET ME OUT OF THIS CAR!!!! I pulled myself together by the time we hit flagstaff and cheered all the way down the hill! I was praising God I didn't have to load back up and drive home, I was flying!

After 16 hours in the car we finally made it to my Mom's house, where we got the dogs out to run in the park and to meet my Mom's dog, Fozzy. She is VERY territorial and we weren't sure how she was going to accept her house mate for the next few days. She did well, but Jaxson wanted to play. Fozzy doesn't know how to play and this frustrated her, so we kept them apart and tried to pay lots of attention to Fozzy. Cooper and Mattie stayed at Grandma Rebels, where she fell in love with them and let them up on the couch... GRANDMA!!!!

Over all we had a great time with family and friends and Larry loaded them back in the car on Sunday to make the trek home by himself. I had to stay and finish my week to work! He did great on the drive home and was happy to be in his own bed that night!!!!

New Arrival

Introducing our newest arrival... JAXSON... he is the cutest, feistiest little Yorkie I know. But we love him! He was born in March of this year and we got him May 16, just 8 weeks old. He has had us in stitches with his little personality! He loves to play and give kisses. Of course he is in that puppy stage where he loves to bite everything including my toes! He is a snuggler and loves to be close. He's my little helper! Painting was the best, his little nose turned brown. He is doing really well with potty training, although we have had a few accidents, he generally goes outside. He loves to ride in the car as long as he can see out the window. Which usually consists of sitting on my shoulder behind my head. It's cute and it keeps him from getting car sick.

Tulsa House

We are getting settled! Although we are trying to settle enough to live, but not have to repack everything in September when hopefully we will buy our first house together. So, in the meantime, Larry rented us a house in Tulsa. It's a cute little house, but needed some TLC. It had a very unique paint job and we have decided that it was painted in OU colors. It was originally wood paneling that was painted.

So we have repainted the entire house and started putting some home touches to it. Although Larry thinks it's very "brown" he would have like a little more blue, I mean color! He'll have to wait for our house! Here are some pictures of our house. We have a cute little porch where I want to put a swing... but we will wait for our house.

Here is our bedroom and our new comforter set, we're all grown up! And some pictures that Julie and I made while she was out here to give the room some "color". They turned out so fun and to think it was just paper!

Then we added some decals up the side just for fun! We are enjoying our house, but keep dreaming of the house we want to buy together. A little more land, a few more bathrooms, and a place to call our own!

The Honeymoon...Cozumel

After a long day of travel and I mean long... we had to leave for the airport at 2:30 am, we finally made it to Cozumel, Mexico. It was amazing! We walked around the island for a bit and decided we needed a little refresher before the evening so we headed back to the resort for a little nap. Here is the view from our balcony. It was all inclusive with 4 restaurants to choose from, snack shops and drink bars. Larry was loving the bars and tried so many new drinks... I tried but I really just don't like the taste of anything. Our resort had a private beach so went spent some time there before our Lobster dinner cruise. We did some snorkling, the water was beautiful. It was kind of windy so the water was rough, but we still had fun swimming and checking out the colorful fish! Since the water was so rough, we decided to take a submarine 107 feet under and explore that way. We saw some crazy fish some people call them scuba divers. That evening we went on our Lobster dinner cruise, (thank you Dave and Kathi) It was so fun. It was on a pirate ship with real Mexican Pirates... They danced and gave kisses and made us participate in crazy games. It was fun and the food was great!

The next day we headed for an adventure... to the Mayan ruins. After a long ride in a van we finally made it there. It was very interesting, but due to our short stay would have liked to have been on the beach. We also visited a sink hole, which was cool. A big hole in the ground full of water. We played for a bit and then headed back to the van for the drive back. It was a long day, but we enjoyed ourselves and met some interesting people from Canada.

ALl in all we had a great time and wished we had 2 more days to just enjoy each other and the beach. We made a deal we would go back and spent more time! On our last day before our plane took off we did some shopping and roaming around the shops. Next time we will cruise in!

The Wedding

Well, we did it! It was an amazing day, yet I am glad that it is over! Everything went over without a hitch (or at least to my knowledge)! It was perfect, a little on the hot side, but perfect! I just had to keep moving and my built in air conditioner (swooping of my dress) kept me cool! The ceremony was the funniest I think I have ever heard, which is good, that's how we wanted it! Andy did an awesome job, thank you! My dad and I danced down the aisle and it was fun. We laughed so hard (it kept us from crying). Larry looked great in his tux... who knew he could clean up so nice! After all the laughing during the ceremony, we were announced and husband and wife... what an amazing feeling!

Then on to the Reception...

This is when it got really hot, but people just migrated to the shade and drank lots of water. We danced and said our hellos to people. It's amazing how many people you never get to and wonder, "were they even there?" There is so much going on, you can't possibly see everything. So, sorry to those I never spoke to... I'm glad you were there with us, I hope you enjoyed yourselves! The breeze was just enough to keep things cool and blowing over the centerpieces (which were full of jelly beans, so I'm sure people weren't complaining!) We decided to head out early because it was so hot, but that was OK... we were ready!

We headed back to my Mom's house to change and then through the Chik-fil-a drive thru we went. Meal of champions, that's what I say. We spent the night at the Pointe, Squaw Peak. It was really nice. We sat in the hot tub for a while and then Larry had a midnight craving and had to run to Wendy's. I guess the eventful day brought him hunger pains! :)

The next day, we went back to my Mom's house and opened presents. We were truly blessed in so many ways. Thank you everyone for the many things we received. It was all wonderful. We spent the rest of the day running around saying hi to out of town family and friends. Finally ending the day packing for our Honeymoon to Cozumel!

The Move

WOW...what an experience this move has been! I don't ever want to move again! OR at least the week before my wedding, and the good thing is I will never have to... I'm never getting married again! I have learned so much about myself in this process of planning a wedding and moving all while having my Fiance' 1200 miles away. I don't handle this much stress very well and I either crawl in a hole or I explode like a firecracker. Neither of them being very good! But it is all calming down now and I'm ready for a new adventure in Oklahoma!

I have been slowly packing my house for weeks and yesterday it came to a head. My wonderful friend, Julie has been a lifesaver through all of this. She met a couple of guys here at my house to start the packing of the POD... OH wait let me back up a little... First we had to unpack the POD! Larry's family packed all of his stuff in the POD and filled is almost half full... with none of the furniture in there yet, we had to take some action. What was going and what was staying? This is where I learned that my soon to be husband keeps everything and I mean everything. So, we hauled everything out of the POD into my backyard and surveyed what was going.

Back to the movers... it's amazing how much stuff they got in that POD! Every piece of furniture that was in my house in now in a 16 foot POD; a pool table, 2 beds, dressers (all 3 of them), a piano, a desk, bookshelves... they stuffed and stacked and got almost everything in there. But there is too much that isn't going to fit. So, I am right now on my floor typing this waiting for the second POD so the rest of it can join us in Oklahoma, including the fish tank!

It's been an experience and I'm glad to be doing this. I can't wait to finally be with Larry in Oklahoma, so we can talk face to face everyday. He can kiss and hug me when these tears of overwhelm take over me! I see a light at the end of this tunnel and I am excited!
